To be romantic or realistic?

Two opposed terms but at the same time they can be so equivalent… how is this possible you may wonder. Everyday events that cause surprise, joy, anxiety, anger, rage, injustice, all strong feeling depending on how we perceive incidents at the time. You may still not have been able to identify these terms with what I mentioned but yet…

You feel that you have been treated unfairly when someone else in your work gets the credit where you should, you get angry when laws are not followed by everyone but you do, you feel sad when your loved ones may not be there for you when you need them…

How to interpret those incidents that make you feel this way? Romantically or realistically? Where does the scale lean? Somewhere in between perhaps? If you want to “comfort” yourself see the romantic side, if however you don’t want to beautify and idealize then follow the stream of realism.

In any case, use your instinct to ensure that you have the condition of balance within you. Thus romanticism will equate realism and vice versa.

Do you choose to ignore or move between the two?
